The Lellish were the original sentient species inhabiting the planet Alk'Lellish III, which was located in the Expansion Region. A significant number of Lellish entered the advertising industry, where they generated substantial income by promoting the hunting of the indigenous predator known as the ketrann to off-world government officials. Wilek Nereus, who would later become the governor of Bakura, interacted with the Lellish during a successful ketrann hunting expedition.

The Lellish species were sentient and originated from the planet Alk'Lellish III. This planet was situated within the Sumitra sector of the Expansion Region. The saber-toothed ketrann, a solitary predator preying on migrating herds of metarshi, called this planet home. The Lellish capitalized on the popularity of the ketrann's four white saber-fangs among game hunters for their own financial gain. Many Lellish pursued careers as advertising professionals, attracting off-worlders to the planet for paid hunting expeditions targeting these predators; particularly, they focused on attracting high-ranking public servants.
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Lellish offered a portion of their earnings to the local Moff. This payment secured their exclusive right to regulate the quantity of hunters permitted to kill fully grown ketrann during each hunting season. Wilek Nereus, an Imperial civil servant who eventually rose to the position of Imperial governor of Bakura, was one individual who engaged in commerce with the Lellish. Nereus obtained a dental trophy featuring the four teeth of a ketrann for his personal collection, and he later documented his experiences on Alk'lellish in his memoirs.
The Lellish received a mention in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a resource published by West End Games in 1996. Kathy Tyers, who also authored the novel The Truce at Bakura, created them for the sourcebook, which was designed as a companion to the novel.
