Doctor Soprin hypothesized that the artifact originated from a Gree Enclave, a notion that Lerek ridiculed, leading to her animosity towards him. Lerek maintained that the device was a perilous weapon and, ultimately fearing for his own safety, he abandoned the team. Before his complete departure from Tatooine, he made a stop at the Anchorhead spaceport to create a final recorded message, cautioning against any interference with the device. Regrettably, Lerek's apprehensions were validated when The Imprisoned One achieved liberation, resulting in the demise or enslavement of all Czerka base personnel present at the time.
