The Galactic Republic tasked Schmireland with the mission of creating a catalogue of planets circa 532 BBY, so he left Coruscant accompanied by a crew. Despite his failure to return, his messenger droids kept arriving at the university, delivering updates throughout the High Republic Era. Although Avon Starros deemed the Schmireland almanac largely irrelevant because it held information about planets of no practical interest, her droid J-6 utilized it to recognize the jungle moon where she and others were marooned as Wevo.
