Liz Marsham is both an author and editor hailing from the United States. She spent a number of years at Disney Publishing Worldwide as a Digital Editor. While there, Marsham was responsible for the creation of digital games and applications based on the Star Wars universe, notably including Star Wars Journeys: The Phantom Menace and Star Wars Scene Maker. After she moved into freelance work, she penned the illustrated short story called "Leia Charts Her Own Course."
Liz Marsham is a United States author and editor. Her professional background includes working with comic books and storybooks intended for children. In July of 2012, Marsham began her employment at Disney Publishing Worldwide as a Digital Editor. Following The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd. later that same year, Star Wars books were then published by Disney Publishing Worldwide under the Disney–Lucasfilm Press label. Marsham's involvement with Star Wars projects started in 2014.
Marsham was responsible for the development, writing, and editing of Star Wars Journeys: The Phantom Menace. This was a mobile game that adapted the storyline of the 1999 prequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. The app was launched on April 22, 2014, and it presented an interactive storybook complete with audio narration, as well as a collection of minigames. The content that was featured in Journeys: The Phantom Menace was subsequently re-released within the Star Wars Journeys: Beginnings app on December 18, 2014. Marsham also made contributions to the Star Wars Scene Maker app, which was released on June 19 of the same year. Scene Maker allowed players to construct entirely new scenes and scenarios by using characters and locations taken from the original trilogy. Disney has since removed both of the Star Wars Journeys apps, as well as Star Wars Scene Maker, from online stores, and it no longer provides support for these applications. In November of 2014, Marsham left Disney Publishing and began working as a freelancer.
On October 2 of 2018, Disney–Lucasfilm Press released Galactic Adventures Storybook Collection. This was an anthology of illustrated short stories that adapted content from previously released Star Wars comic books and junior novels. Marsham contributed the short story "Leia Charts Her Own Course" to this anthology. This story adapted the events of the first issue of the 2015 Marvel Comics miniseries Star Wars: Princess Leia, which was written by Mark Waid. The illustrations for Marsham's story were created by members of the Italian illustration agency TomatoFarm. An unabridged audiobook adaptation that included Marsham's story was released on March 1 of 2023.
