The initial short film "Lo, I am Manufactured" serves as the opening installment of the animated miniseries known as LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars. Its premiere took place on October 29, 2018, and it was broadcasted through the Disney XD YouTube channel. Subsequently, the short was incorporated into the broader episode titled "From Trenches to Wrenches: The Roger Story."
Roger shares his autobiography, entitled From Trenches to Wrenches: The Roger Story. The episode commences with the Millennium Falcon being chased by TIE fighters. A younger Han Solo complains, expressing his belief that the Galactic Empire should not be concerned about their shortcut through their territory. Chewbacca responds with a growl. Han requests a technical analysis of their rear deflector shields. As the vessel tilts during the pursuit, Roger enters the cockpit, insisting that they maintain stability because he is in the process of writing his biography.
Han disregards Roger and instead asks Chewbacca for a reading. Misinterpreting Solo's request, Roger feels appreciated and begins to recite from the first chapter, titled Lo, I am Manufactured. The chapter begins with Roger's assembly within the Geonosian droid factories. Roger narrates that his early experiences mirrored those of any other B1-series battle droid, which he characterizes as "constantly humiliating." The narrative then transitions to the Battle of Naboo, where Roger and other battle droids are shown marching in formation across the Great Grass Plains of Naboo. As they advance into battle, Roger informs his comrade R0-HK that this is their opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities to the galaxy. However, Roger is knocked off his feet by a booma and subsequently vacuumed up by a cleaning droid.
Years later, Roger, now with a new paint job, participates in the First Battle of Geonosis. Energized by his fresh appearance, Roger leads a squad of battle droids, only to be struck down by Jedi Master Mace Windu's lightsaber. Once again, Roger is sucked up by a vacuum droid. He reflects that "regardless of the planet or the enemy, the outcome remained consistent." The following scenes depict Roger being shot and crushed on Naboo and Geonosis. On Felucia, three Clone troopers are shown playing with Roger's head, much to his dismay. Back on Geonosis, Roger is once again knocked down, this time by General Grievous on a speeder bike.
Returning to the present, Roger concludes that the most valuable lesson he learned was to avoid danger. Appreciating Roger's story, Solo skillfully evades two TIE fighters approaching from both the front and rear of the Falcon. The TIE fighters collide and explode. As the Falcon departs, Han and Chewie communicate. Roger inquires if they would like to hear another story. Han expresses his preference for silence, while Chewbacca roars at Roger. Roger then leaves the cockpit, carrying his holobook.
