Locan

The Locans were a sentient species of near-Humans. Their name was the same as their Wild Space planet, Loce. They were characterized by pointed ears, noticeable incisor teeth, and unique light purplish-blue skin. One of them, Talas Piran, had a stocky physique, a powerful build, and large arms with black, mottled skin. Piran also had short black hair. Locans were identified as at least male in gender.

By 2 BBY, the young Locan named Talas Piran was captured by enslavers. They removed him from his homeworld of Loce. Subsequently, he was sold to a company authorized by the Galactic Empire. This company forced him to log trees on Hintivan II, a world in the Outer Rim Territories. Several years later, Piran purchased his freedom and then became an enslaver himself. He joined the Mytaranor Slaving Council, which operated in the Mytaranor sector of the Mid Rim's and other locations, eventually rising to become the leader of the organization.

Behind the scenes

The Locans were first referenced in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook published by West End Games for their Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Christina Wald provided the illustration of the Locan Talas Piran featured in the book.
