Behind the scenes

The 2024 television show The Acolyte featured Lomi Usqi Noodle Shop in its debut episode, "Lost / Found." This shop is an homage to the inn featured in King Hu's Hong Kong Shaw Brothers studio film, Come Drink with Me (original Chinese title 大醉俠). The film, which premiered in 1966, is set during the Ming era (1368—1644). According to showrunner Leslye Headland, The Acolyte drew inspiration from martial arts films she enjoys, including Come Drink with Me and Akira Kurosawa's Japanese samurai film Yojimbo (originally titled 用心棒 in Japanese), which was released in 1961.
