The "Low Ones" represented individuals from the Yrashu species who possessed Force-sensitivity but were corrupted by the influence of the Dark side of the Force. While the Yrashu society permitted their existence, these individuals were regarded with disdain and viewed as miscreants and deviants. This constituted the sole form of social stratification within the Yrashu culture. Prior to the Battle of Baskarn, a contingent of Rebels encountered a faction of Low Ones who had commandeered the blasters previously belonging to a Rebel reconnaissance unit stationed at Advance Base Baskarn; the original owners having been consumed by a sizable, flightless avian predator. The Rebels swiftly overcame the Low Ones and subsequently gained acceptance into a benevolent Yrashu tribe that had been subjected to harassment by the blaster-wielding Low Ones.
