During the Cold War era, a male Human known as Mal served as a police officer within the ranks of the Coruscant Security Force. This conflict occurred between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. Officer Mal's area of responsibility was the Old Galactic Market sector on the planet of Coruscant. Despite his best efforts to maintain order, Mal faced significant challenges due to limited resources and ongoing conflicts between CSF police and the Migrant Merchants' Guild's criminal elements. On one occasion, a Nautolan refugee named Nik Deleru approached Mal, reporting that his partner, Ria Deleru, had been abducted by the Guild. While Mal was unable to provide direct assistance, another individual stepped forward to offer help in rescuing Ria.
On the planet of Coruscant, Officer Mal, a male Human, worked as a police officer for the Coruscant Security Force during the Cold War. This period saw tension between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Mal's post was within the Old Galactic Market area of Galactic City. Following riots, the Old Galactic Market was overwhelmed with refugees and the rise of a criminal syndicate known as the Migrant Merchants' Guild. The Guild purported to defend the refugees' interests, but in reality, they extorted protection money and engaged in unlawful activities like money laundering and smuggling. Although the CSF had regained some territory in the Galactic Market, the Guild still controlled the majority. Nik Deleru, a Nautolan, informed Mal that Ria Deleru, his mate, had been taken by the Guild, and requested Mal's assistance in her rescue. However, Mal lacked the necessary personnel to enter the Guild's territory and extract Ria.
During a discussion regarding the CSF's ability to retrieve Ria from the Migrant Merchants' Guild headquarters, a citizen of the Republic offered to help Nik in rescuing Ria. This individual successfully located Ria, who revealed that she had willingly left Nik to pursue a better life. She requested that the individual inform Nik that she had left the planet. The individual then returned to Nik and Officer Mal, relaying Ria's message.
Mal, a police officer, was characterized by his dark skin, blue eyes, and black hair. He was committed to his profession and deeply valued his duty to protect. Observing the struggles of the refugees, Mal held the view that their presence in the Old Galactic Market was unwarranted, implying a degree of responsibility for their circumstances. Conversely, the refugees blamed the CSF for failing to control the Guild. Despite his frustration with the refugees' accusations, Mal was concerned about their situation. However, the CSF's limited resources and personnel prevented him from intervening and assisting the refugees with Guild-related issues. This situation led to Mal's frustration with the Guild, the refugees, and his own inability to take action.
