Migrant Merchants' Guild

The Migrant Merchants' Guild, ostensibly a lawful trade consortium championing refugee entitlements and backing the Coruscant rebuilding project, was in truth a sophisticated criminal organization. This syndicate gained control amidst the riots that erupted in the Old Galactic Market in the aftermath of the Great Galactic War.

History

Even prior to the conclusion of the conflict, the guild functioned as a cover for illicit financial transactions and the clandestine movement of commodities, largely refraining from violent offenses. Composed predominantly of nonhuman individuals, it embodied a substantial economic influence within Coruscant's nonhuman immigrant community. Progressing into bribery and coercion, the Migrant Merchants' Guild established its headquarters in the Old Galactic Market, all while upholding a superficial appearance of legitimacy. In their efforts to maintain order, Coruscant Security Force units frequently engaged in confrontations with Guild members. At its peak, the organization shifted its focus from extorting local enterprises towards meddling in planetary-level political affairs.

The organization suffered massive losses, as Abiss Sol'oras died and many members were killed during the Coruscant Security crackdown that followed the Migrant Merchants' Guild armed insurrection.
