Mandalorian crest

The Mandalorian crest served as a visual representation, depicting the skull of a mythosaur – an age-old symbol associated with the Mand'alor, who traditionally reigned over all the Mandalorian clans, as well as the planet of Mandalore itself, and the Mandalorians as a people.

JaingSkull The Mandalorian Crest was first based on the skull of Master Jaing. Initially, the skull crest functioned as the emblem of the ancient Mandalorian Keldau clan, celebrated for their combat trainers. Its original adoption paid homage to a renowned training master named Jaing. Because the skull of Jaing's species exhibits a notable similarity to a male mythosaur's skull, modern Mandalorians universally recognize the crest as symbolizing the mythosaur. Furthermore, a different version of the skull icon was merged with the Mandalorian Crusaders' insignia, creating the crest for the subsequent Neo-Crusaders. MandalMotors, the Mandalorian starship manufacturer, also employed the mythosaur skull as its corporate logo. Over time, the mythosaur skull evolved into a prevalent symbol within Mandalorian society, decorating Mandalorian armor, equipment, and banners. Certain individuals even opted to display the skull sigil as a tattoo.
