Maz and the Gigantic Blorp – Chapter 1

"Maz and the Gigantic Blorp – Chapter 1" marks the sixth installment within the Star Wars Roll Out series of animated shorts. Its initial release occurred on YouTube on September 13, 2019.

Takodana's castle, owned by Maz, functions as a haven for pirates, smugglers, spies, and various other rogues. While she is open to individuals from all corners of the galaxy, a small being known as a blorp presents a potential for significant disruption.

The opening sequence showcases BB-8 and a Star Wars themed ball leading a procession that includes Rey, Maz Kanata, Finn, Captain Phasma, a pair of stormtroopers, Ben Solo, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and a trio of porgs.

Maz is attending to her duties, tending to the patrons within her Takodana castle, when two unfamiliar figures, concealed behind skull masks, enter Maz's Castle carrying a container holding a blorp. Maz approaches to welcome them, expressing her fascination with the gelatinous green being. The masked individuals are displeased by the attention, but just as the situation is about to escalate, Maz is drawn away by a commotion originating from the kitchen. There, the occupants are in a state of panic due to a large blue fire, which Maz extinguishes by activating the ceiling sprinkler system, restoring calm.

Seeking respite from the chaos, Maz retreats to her secluded private chamber, situated behind the communications and command center. She then settles into a rocking chair and drifts off to sleep.

Meanwhile, down in the castle's main area, the blorp briefly emerges from its container, encountering a group of tiny aliens characterized by antennae. Displeased with its actions, the blorp's handlers strike its cage and administer an electric shock as punishment, inciting the creature into a state of agitation. The blorp then retreats into its box and begins to jump around wildly, resulting in its dramatic growth in size, which causes the box to shatter and the handlers to be overwhelmed.

Awakening abruptly, Maz hurries down to the castle floor, only to find the colossal blorp having already captured its keepers within its jelly-like form, where they are bouncing around. Jashco Phurus and another individual attempt to attack the creature using blasters, but their efforts are futile, and the blorp promptly captures them as well.
