The comic narrative "Memory Loss" is presented in the thirteenth edition of the Star Wars Comic UK periodical, which was distributed in December of 2014. The plot revolves around C-3PO undergoing a memory wipe, a procedure mandated by Bail Prestor Organa as depicted in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Following the Declaration of a New Order and the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the droid pair C-3PO and R2-D2 were brought under the care of Senator Bail Prestor Organa on the Sundered Heart. Organa then issued the command to erase the protocol droid's memories via a memory wipe. C-3PO expressed his reservations and attempted to communicate his concerns to Captain Raymus Antilles, but their conversation was cut short when Antilles was summoned to the bridge.
The captain instructed R2 to execute a complete memory reset and subsequently report back. The astromech droid seemed amused by this, but C-3PO retorted by calling him an outdated piece of junk and urging him to take the situation seriously. R2 then indulged in an oil bath. C-3PO then contemplated whether they could have done more to rescue their former owner, Padmé Amidala, who met her death on Mustafar at the hands of her husband, the Jedi Knight Skywalker. Subsequently, C-3PO reminisced about their wedding.
The ceremony had transpired at Varykino on Naboo at the start of the Clone Wars. As C-3PO prepared for the memory erasure, he remarked that he had been happier during those times.
C-3PO then reflected on a troubling statement once made by Skywalker, concerning the annihilation of a Tusken Raider settlement. Abruptly, R2 was shocked by an RA-7 protocol droid, who intended to extract C-3PO's memory banks.
C-3PO attempted to call out to R2, but he had already been incapacitated. The RA-7 droid brandished a vibroblade, revealing that an accomplice had placed him on board to function as a spy. C-3PO then inadvertently disclosed the existence of the twins, Luke and Leia.
Recognizing the need for immediate action, he declared to the RA-7 droid that he could not permit the situation to escalate further. C-3PO shoved him towards the memory wipe station, trapping him in place while initiating the memory wipe procedure on both of them.
During the process, he experienced a flood of past memories.
Once the procedure was complete, R2 dismantled the RA-7's head. C-3PO then intervened, requesting to be directed to an astromech droid named R2-D2, and introduced himself. Subsequently, C-3PO extended an invitation to R2 to collaborate on programming binary loadlifters.
