The Mensaav Laboratory, situated in the Alsakan Lowlands of Alderaan, functioned as a scientific research center throughout the Cold War. Within its military sector, the Republic superweapon initiative developed the Death Mark laser. Following an attack by Imperial forces amidst the Alderaan Civil War, the indigenous Killiks of Alderaan seized control of the facility. Concurrently, in a separate area of the laboratory, House Ulgo commenced experimentation on these Killiks.
