Merven Getter, a Mirialan, held the position of a third-class scantech on a monitoring station situated within the Hetzal system. His responsibilities included observing vessels within the system, verifying adherence to designated flight paths, and meticulously recording starship movement. When off-duty from the space station, Getter lived on the Rooted Moon of Hetzal Prime, and he was determined to invite Sella, a Twi'lek bartender working at the spaceport's cantina, on a date. He frequented the cantina three to four evenings each week post-shift to enjoy ale. As several anomalies emerged from hyperspace and advanced towards the populated areas of the system, Getter and his fellow scantech, the second-class Vel Carann, collaborated to understand these anomalies. Getter was forced to conduct the analysis himself after Carann admitted her inability due to her habitual negligence of her duties. Upon recognizing the impending impact of these objects on the planet, they disseminated a system-wide warning. Tragically, one of the anomalies collided with the monitoring station, resulting in its complete destruction and the death of all Scantechs present, including Getter.
