Michael McMaster, who has been a member of the R2 Builders Club since 2001, is a builder of props.
To help promote the animated show Star Wars Rebels, McMaster was asked by Dave Filoni, the executive producer of the show, to create a life-size, fully movable model of the astromech droid character Chopper. It took McMaster approximately eighty-seven days to complete the project. The Chopper model was also featured on "Rebels Recon" on StarWars.com, and had a short appearance in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Additionally, McMaster constructed CH-33Z, a mouse droid, for The Star Wars Show, as well as R3-A3 for "Science and Star Wars". Michael continues his work for Lucasfilm, with his most recent project being the Millennium Falcon Experience that toured to promote the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story.
McMaster also created and controlled the astromech droid LX-R5, which was featured in the game show Jedi Temple Challenge.
