LX-R5


LX-R5, alternatively called Ellex, was an R5 series astromech droid in service to the Jedi Order. He worked in conjunction with Jedi Master Kelleran Beq and the protocol droid known as AD-3.

Biography

Jedi Master Kelleran Beq was served by LX-R5, an astromech droid. He went with Beq, alongside the protocol droid AD-3, as Beq oversaw Padawans' Jedi Trials.

Characteristics

The astromech droid LX-R5 had a yellow trapezoidal dome and a white body that featured yellow and orange accents. His programming was male, and his language was Binary. AD-3, his droid partner, often made fun of him, and commented on his exhaust at least twice.

Behind the scenes

Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge featured LX-R5 as a minor character in its first episode, which debuted on YouTube on June 10, 2020. Scott Bromley, the show's creator, stated that the droid's name came from his young nephew Alex, and its construction took 16 days. Michael McMaster, a prop builder, controlled LX-R5 from behind the camera.
