Minashee served as the homeworld for Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, as well as his father, who made his living as a fisherman. This world was one of the Cassandran Worlds. While recording a holo-letter intended for his sister, Jenza, Jedi Initiate Dooku made reference to Sifo-Dyas's origins on Minashee. Approximately around 23 BBY, Dooku entrusted data disks containing his messages to Jenza to Asajj Ventress—his newly appointed Sith assassin—so she could investigation into the whereabouts of his sister's. Ventress then listened to the message that mentioned Minashee.
Within the current Star Wars canon, the 2015 reference book titled Ultimate Star Wars was the first to mention Sifo-Dyas's planet of origin. Subsequently, the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, authored by Cavan Scott and released on April 30, 2019, identified it by the name Minashee. The spelling was then officially confirmed in the script release of the same audiobook on October 1 of that same year. In Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet known as Minashee made its debut appearance in Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Two, a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game book penned by John Terra and published by West End Games in 1992.
