The MiniMag, a shoulder-launched proton torpedo launcher, also known as the MiniMag PTL missile launcher, represented a model of portable missile launcher created by Krupx Munitions.
The MiniMag shoulder-launched proton torpedo launcher, similar to the PLX-1 portable missile launcher, featured a firing chamber engineered to accommodate proton torpedoes (which explains the acronym), although it could launch other types of projectiles. However, unlike the PLX, the PTL lacked support for different firing modes or the 'smart' Gravity-Activated Mode for torpedo launches. The PTL could hold up to seven missiles.
Krupx Munitions produced the MiniMag before the Clone Wars, and its production spanned several decades. The Grand Army of the Republic employed it during that conflict. During the Summertime War on Haruun Kal, a planet, the Republic-supported Upland Liberation Front utilized two MiniMags. Furthermore, Imperial shock troopers and Imperial Marines carried them during the Galactic Civil War.
The 2003 Star Wars Legends novel Shatterpoint, penned by Matthew Stover, marked the initial appearance of the MiniMag shoulder-launched proton torpedo launcher.
Within the Battlefront video game series, the PTL is the primary weapon for the Imperial heavy-weapons class.
