After finding the letters M.R. inscribed on a weapon at the obliterated Tak Base, Kyle Katarn went in search of the weapons creator, Rebus, located on the planet Anoat.
Since Rebus was known to be living within a Sewage Complex inside of Anoat City, this caused the rebel mercenary, Kyle Katarn, to unearth him from his hiding spot in the city's sewer system, and then turn him over to the Rebellion.
The location was barely protected, only having a few probe droids and remotes present. However, the primary hazard for Kyle was the dianogas that inhabited the sewers. Furthermore, he faced the challenge of figuring out a difficult method to get to Rebus. He needed to unlock 4 separate gates, navigate through maze-like sections associated with each gate, and then elevate the sludge level before he could arrive at Rebus's base of operations.
After the task was completed, Jan Ors readied the decontamination shower aboard the Moldy Crow for Kyle's use.
Rebus did not want to help with the questioning, but his slip-ups during conversation pointed to Fest as a critical location for the project.
