This modified holdout blaster was a holdout blaster, originally produced by the Czerka Corporation after the conclusion of the Jedi Civil War. It was recovered from the body of a hired criminal who had assaulted the Jedi Exile as she was trying to get a droid with valuable information to the Ithorian compound located on Citadel Station. Because of the addition of several unauthorized modifications, the blaster had not undergone the mandatory inspection required by Telosian regulations at the time of its discovery. The Exile turned the blaster over to Telosian Security Force Lieutenant Dol Grenn for examination. Grenn then told her about a smuggling operation happening on the station. Grenn advised showing the weapon to different people on Citadel; she ultimately presented it to Samhan Dobo, a Duros merchant who ran a merchant kiosk. Dobo confessed to selling the blaster, and with this information, the Exile notified Grenn.
Following her agreement to act as an undercover operative for the station's security forces, the Exile consented to work as a smuggler for Dobo as part of a plan to dismantle his organization. By collaborating with the TSF, she managed to obtain the necessary resources to draw Dobo and his contact, a Czerka Corporation employee, into a police ambush. Dobo tried to eliminate the arresting officers using a grenade, but he was restrained after a brief struggle and apprehended.
