Moloch's staff, also known as a scepter, was the possession of Moloch, who was a male Grindalid and an enforcer for the White Worms criminal organization. The top of the staff was adorned with a depiction of twisting scrumrats.
Jamie Wilkinson, the prop master, explained in The Art of Solo: A Star Wars Story that the visual inspiration for the writhing, sculptural scrumrat figures that decorated Moloch's staff came from the infernal landscapes created by William Blake and John Martin, the English Romantic painters.
