Mouth-operated gun

The mouth-controlled firearm was a projectile weapon designed to be utilized by the Laboi, a species of mammals without limbs that originated on the planet of Laboi II. Because the Laboi could activate the mouth-controlled weapon without using their hands, it was a useful tool for those who ventured from their homeworld into the wider galaxy. However, the technology was both uncommon and very costly; during the time of the Galactic Civil War, it retailed for at least ten times the cost of a similar weapon that was hand-operated.

Behind the scenes

The mouth-operated gun is referenced in the second edition of Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races as a potential item for Laboi characters in Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. The book, updated by Chuck Truett from the original edition by Troy Denning, is the technology's first appearance. The source does not clarify if these weapons used blaster technology, slugthrower technology, or some other type of technology.
