Msqito

Msqitos were a type of sizable flying insect species that were indigenous to the planet of Kubindi. These creatures deposited their eggs close to water sources, but as grown adults, they dwelled in forests such as the Silver Forest of Dreams.

Biology and appearance

These flying insects, known as Msqitos, were native to Kubindi, a planet frequently hit by solar flares. Their wings were quite large, and their bodies were about as long as an adult Human was tall, with the average height of a human being around 1.8 meters.

Behavior

Msqitos would deposit their eggs in the vicinity of water sources, and then each day after hatching, all of them would journey as a group to another habitat. Adult members of this species lived in forested environments.

History

When the bounty hunter Dengar, along with several other hunters of bounties, journeyed to Kubindi in 0 ABY, he came across a group of msqitos in the Silver Forest of Dreams and almost crashed his JumpMaster 5000, the Punishing One, when he swerved to avoid them. The Rebels Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa, who had followed the bounty hunters to Kubindi, observed a flock of newly hatched msqitos traveling from a nearby lake towards the Silver Forest of Dreams. An aquabeast tried to eat one of them.

Behind the scenes

Msqitos made their debut in Star Wars Missions 6: The Search for Grubba the Hutt, a 1998 novel penned by Dave Wolverton as a part of the Star Wars Missions series.
