Murttoc Yine
Murttoc Yine, a Human, operated as both an information broker and a spy throughout the Galactic Civil War. In the year 4 ABY, he was employed within the palace of the crime lord Jabba the Hutt on the planet Tatooine. Possessing numerous unsavory connections within the criminal world, Yine served as the primary contact for individuals seeking jobs with Jabba. During 4 ABY, Yine was among Jabba's entourage inside the palace when the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, who belonged to the Jedi Luke Skywalker, arrived with the intention of negotiating for the freedom of Han Solo, a friend of Skywalker's being held as a prisoner within the palace. Murttoc Yine had dark hair coupled with light skin, and he wore a collection of robes along with a hat.
Behind the scenes
Murttoc Yine initially made his debut as an uncredited background character in the 1983 motion picture Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, specifically during the Max Rebo Band's musical performance of "Lapti Nek." This particular scene, which included Yine, was removed from the Special Edition version of the film in 1997; however, an alternative scene featuring the Max Rebo Band performing "Jedi Rocks" was inserted, in which Yine was visible. The character's name was first revealed on a card from the Star Wars Customizable Card Game's "Jabba's Palace Limited" collection, which was released in 1998.
