The calendar system employed by the human people of Naboo was based on the "Year of Kwilaan" designation, which honored the original colonists' leader. The crowning of Queen Amidala, according to this system, occurred on the 34th of Grizm in the 835th Year of Kwilaan.
The Naboo calendar was initially and specifically presented in Pablo Hidalgo's 2016 reference book, Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy. Hidalgo calculated the "835th Year of Kwilaan" based on "Crisis on Naboo," the eighteenth episode of season four of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series', where it is stated that Naboo became part of the Republic "eight-hundred and forty-seven years ago".
