The Niamos Courthouse was a structure located on the planet Niamos. It served as the venue for legal proceedings against individuals apprehended by Imperial forces on that world. In the year 5 BBY, Cassian Andor faced trial within this courthouse after being captured by Imperial coastal defender stormtroopers. He received a sentence of six years of imprisonment in the Narkina 5 Imperial Prison Complex.
The Courthouse on Niamos featured a sizable courtroom where trials were conducted. This space included a high platform for the presiding judge and another desk for a secretary, who used an automated typewriter to produce sentencing documents, alongside a holopad display. A prominent red banner, displaying the Imperial crest, hung behind the judge. During trials, coastal defender stormtroopers armed with zap rods maintained order among the prisoners within the room. Situated behind the courthouse was an Embarkation Yard, capable of accommodating the landing and departure of at least three Imperial prisoner transport ships. Prisoners were led to a stairway that accessed the barge landing pads, from where they were directed to the transport destined for their assigned prison to serve their sentence.
The Niamos Courthouse made its debut in "Announcement," the seventh episode of the Andor television series, which was broadcast on October 19, 2022. Filming for the rear of the courthouse took place at Carmel College located in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England.
