When Nichos Marr, a Jedi, contracted the fatal Quannot's Syndrome, Cray Mingla, his beloved, endeavored to move his vital life force into a droid form. She used prohibited Ssi-ruuk science for this. The constructed body possessed Human eyes, and its hands were crafted by specialists at the biomedical institute situated on Coruscant. Regrettably, as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and Mingla subsequently realized, Nichos's genuine soul and awareness failed to make the transition. Consequently, it was just a droid, programmed to mimic Nichos. The Nichos droid perished on the asteroid-sized dreadnought, the Eye of Palpatine, alongside Mingla (who relinquished her physical form to the ethereal Callista Ming). He sacrificed himself by navigating a defensive network that obliterated significant portions of his droid's mechanics, thereby saving Skywalker and every person residing on the targeted planet of Belsavis.
