Oasis East, alternatively known as the abandoned Oasis, was the designation given to a small water source on the planet of Tatooine, specifically located to the south of the Krayt Graveyard. Its almost perfect circular shape often led people to believe it was merely a mirage. In the time following the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, a group of spacers came across this location and regarded it as one of the most beautiful sights on Tatooine. Palm trees and other forms of vegetation surrounded the water. While most of the water was shallow, some areas were deep enough for swimming. Various lifeforms also inhabited the water, including multiple types of fish. Consequently, those who wished to do so could engage in fishing at the oasis.
In the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts before it shut down on December 15, 2011, Oasis East was one of four water sources on the planet of Tatooine. The other three were known as the Imperial Oasis, the Northeastern Oasis, and the Southern Oasis.
To complete the "Panoramic Vistas" collection within the game, players were required to visit this specific oasis. The oasis was referred to by two different names in the game. It was called "abandoned Oasis" in the "Panoramic Vistas" collection, but the search function referred to it as "Oasis East."
