Operation Death-Hunter represented a top-secret initiative spearheaded by Moff Jesco Comark. Its aim was to engineer superior bounty hunter operatives, operating independently from the oversight of the Galactic Empire. Dissatisfied with the unreliable nature of the bounty hunters employed by the Empire, as well as their dependence on the Bounty Hunters' Guild, Moff Comark made the decision to cultivate soldiers exhibiting comparable capabilities but with unwavering allegiance. To achieve this, subjects underwent extensive modification via sophisticated cybernetics, transforming them into cyborgs completely loyal to the Galactic Empire. The Wastes served as the project's central hub.
The initial stage of the operation involved the abduction of Humans aged between 15 and 25. This age range was specifically chosen to maximize the likelihood of survival during the transformation into a Death-Hunter Cyborg. The Humans selected for the project were abducted from the planet Bescane, a densely populated world where the disappearances of individuals destined for the project were unlikely to be thoroughly investigated. Subsequently, these individuals were transported to an underwater base located on Zeta Zero Nine. There, they were subjected to rigorous and painful experimentation conducted by medical droids and technicians, all in preparation for the integration of cybernetic enhancements.
The final phase of the project focused on the development of specialized vehicles tailored for the newly created cyborgs. Comark placed an order with the Jaemus shipyards for customized Tech 4 Plexus Droid Vessels, each designed to accommodate a single occupant. These vehicles were intended to enable the covert deployment of the modified cyborgs, allowing them to pursue targets discreetly without attracting unwanted attention. However, the creation of Death Hunter cyborgs was cut short due to sabotage by Rebel agents led by Moff Comark's own daughter, Lady Amber Comark. The Rebels successfully infiltrated the underwater base, liberating the prisoners. Before fleeing the facility, they launched concussion missiles into the structure, resulting in its complete destruction.
