Ord Zat was a planetary body, found within the Ord Zat system, which itself existed inside the Jospro sector. This sector was situated within the Slice region of the Outer Rim Territories. This world functioned as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic during the Pius Dea Era. This time period spanned from 12,000 BBY to 11,000 BBY.
Prior to the death of Imperial Governor Wilek Nereus of Bakura, a planet in Wild Space, in 4 ABY, the smuggler starship called Belle made a stop at Ord Zat. The captain of the vessel considered their stay there to be excessively long. During this period, the ship became heavily infested with rat roaches. The crew only discovered the infestation after they had left the star system. Nereus would later record the captain's brief recollection of the visit to Ord Zat, after the captain had been captured and was being interrogated.
The first mention of Ord Zat occurred in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a sourcebook released in 1996 for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, placed the Ord Zat system, and consequently the planet itself, in grid square S-7.
