The Oru, who are also referred to as the Oruans, comprised a population of humans who were native inhabitants of the planet called Oru. These Oruans, a people known for their warrior culture, mounted a defense when the First Order seized control of their world. Under the leadership of Mezlo, an Oruan resistance group came close to achieving victory, but ultimately had to flee and seek refuge at Horizon Base; it was there that the Resistance launched a mission with the goal of enlisting the Oruans into their ranks.
