Ovarra

Ovarra was a Wookiee Chieftain of the female persuasion, residing in the city known as Kachirho on the planet of Kashyyyk. Some time following the Battle of Yavin, Ovarra served as one of the judges presiding over the trial of Ikvizi, a Geonosian scientist falsely accused by a band of Trandoshan slavers for plotting heinous acts against the Wookiees. During the proceedings, Ikvizi enlisted the aid of a spacer to demonstrate his innocence. This spacer uncovered documents within the slavers' encampment that exonerated Ikvizi and presented them to Ovarra. Upon reviewing this evidence, Ovarra determined that Ikvizi was not guilty of most of the accusations, with the exception of bribing a guard for access to a deceased Wookiee. Nevertheless, Ovarra assured that she would advocate for a lenient penalty for Ikvizi.

Biography

Ovarra held the position of female Wookiee Chieftain within the city of Kachirho, situated on the planet Kashyyyk. Not long after the Battle of Yavin, Ovarra was among the judges at the trial of Ikvizi, a Geonosian scientist who had journeyed to Kachirho with the intention of studying the Wookiees. While present on Kashyyyk, Ikvizi learned of a scientific outpost located on the outskirts of Kachirho. However, upon visiting the site, he discovered that the research camp was in reality a group of Trandoshan slavers engaged in cruel experimentation on captured Wookiees. Ikvizi resolved to assist the enslaved Wookiees, infiltrating the camp to gather evidence for presentation in Kachirho. While examining the slavers' possessions, Ikvizi was discovered and subdued by one of the Trandoshans. Subsequently, Ikvizi was found unconscious by a Wookiee hunting party in the forest, alongside documents implicating him in plans to conduct harmful experiments on the Wookiee population. He was apprehended by the Wookiees, imprisoned in jail, and subsequently brought to trial.

During the trial, numerous individuals testified against Ikvizi, claiming to have witnessed him engaging in suspicious behavior within the city. Notably, Ikvizi had bribed a guard to gain access to the corpse of a Wookiee hunter who had died in the Shadowlands, the lower, shadowy region of Kashyyyk. While presiding over the trial, Ovarra expressed skepticism regarding the presented evidence, yet it appeared that Ikvizi would be found guilty by the other judges.

During the trial, a spacer paid Ovarra a visit at Kachirho's central tree, the seat of government for Kachirho. This spacer had been employed by Ikvizi to retrieve documents from the Trandoshan camp, proving that the slavers had fabricated the charges against the Geonosian. Following a brief skirmish, the spacer eliminated several slavers and gained entry to the camp. There, the spacer discovered eight documents affirming Ikvizi's innocence and exposing the Trandoshans' illegal experimentation on the Wookiees. The spacer delivered these documents to Ovarra, leading her to acquit Ikvizi of the charges related to planning dangerous experiments on the Wookiees. Although Ikvizi remained charged with bribing the guard, Ovarra pledged to advocate for a lenient sentence. Subsequently, she dispatched a patrol to apprehend the remaining Trandoshans at the camp, preventing them from further harming the Wookiee populace.

Personality and traits

As a chieftain, Ovarra possessed a strong sense of justice and upheld the law, as evidenced by her decision to still charge Ikvizi with bribing guards to inspect a Wookiee's remains. However, she also demonstrated compassion by promising to argue for a lenient sentence for the Geonosian's offenses. Ovarra had brown fur and black eyes.

Equipment

During her tenure as chieftain, Ovarra donned a robe as her standard clothing.

Behind the scenes

Ovarra's sole appearance occurred in the Star Wars Galaxies expansion, Rage of the Wookiees, where she featured in "The Imprisoned Geonosian" quest, a supplementary quest to the existing Geonosian Bio-Lab "theme-park." In this quest, Ikvizi, incarcerated, requests assistance from the player. Players have the option to decline the quest, though this article assumes complete game progression.
