Ikvizi

Ikvizi was a scientist of the Geonosian race (a male individual), who conducted his research at the former Geonosian research station on Yavin 4 in the years leading up to the Battle of Yavin. After his time at the station concluded, Ikvizi journeyed to Kachirho, a city located on the planet of Kashyyyk, with the intention of studying the native Wookiees. Shortly following the destruction of the Death Star, a band of Trandoshan slavers falsely accused Ikvizi of committing a crime. This was a direct result of his discovery of their hidden base within the forests, where they were engaged in the torture of enslaved Wookiees. Imprisoned within the prison of Kachirho, he encountered a spacer who offered assistance in resolving his predicament. Upon his release, Ikvizi generously rewarded the spacer for their help.

Biography

During the era of the Galactic Empire, Ikvizi, a male Geonosian scientist, was actively involved in research. He was employed at the Geonosian Bio-Labs situated on Yavin 4's moon, where his primary duty involved traveling across the galaxy to collect DNA samples from valuable creatures, a task he performed for several years prior to the Battle of Yavin. During his travels, he managed to obtain DNA from the bolotaur, a sacred mount on the planet Kashyyyk that the indigenous Wookiees typically reserved for their own species. Following his departure from the Yavin 4 labs, he relocated to Kashyyyk to dedicate himself to the study of the local Wookiee population. However, upon his return, he discovered that his species' rarity on the planet led to widespread distrust among the natives, significantly hindering his research efforts. He often found himself limited to interviewing Wookiees who, for various reasons, existed outside the mainstream Kashyyyk society.

After the Battle of Yavin, amidst the ongoing Galactic Civil War, Ikvizi became aware of rumors regarding a scientific encampment located east of the city of Kachirho. Driven by curiosity, he ventured into the forest with the intention of exchanging research notes with these supposed scientists. However, upon reaching his destination, Ikvizi discovered that the camp was not a research facility at all, but rather a clandestine operation run by Trandoshan slavers who were conducting cruel experiments on captured Wookiees. Resolving to expose their activities, Ikvizi infiltrated the camp to gather evidence. While searching through the slavers' belongings, he was discovered and subdued by a Trandoshan. Upon regaining consciousness, Ikvizi found himself in chains, being escorted back to Kachirho by a Wookiee hunting patrol. The patrol had discovered him unconscious in the woods, along with documents that falsely implicated him in a nefarious plot to conduct harmful experiments on numerous Wookiees.

Upon their return to Kachirho, Ikvizi was incarcerated in the local jail and subsequently put on trial. The trial was swiftly overwhelmed by a multitude of witnesses who testified against him, claiming to have observed the Geonosian engaging in suspicious activities around the city. A particularly damning accusation involved the alleged bribery of a guard to gain access to the body of a Wookiee hunter who had died in the Shadowlands. Despite Ikvizi's explanation that his only intention was to study Wookiee physiology, as no living Wookiee would permit him to examine them, the court remained unconvinced, placing him on the brink of conviction.

During his imprisonment, Ikvizi was visited by a spacer. After persuading the spacer to listen to his story, Ikvizi recounted his misfortune and how the Trandoshans had framed him. He implored the spacer to locate the Trandoshan camp and uncover evidence that would exonerate him from the false accusations of planning experiments on the Wookiees. The spacer agreed and set out to find the camp. Upon arriving, the spacer was ambushed by some of the slavers. After defeating his attackers, the spacer discovered eight documents proving Ikvizi's innocence and exposing the Trandoshans' illegal experiments on the Wookiees.

The spacer returned to Kachirho and presented the documents to Ikvizi, who promptly instructed the spacer to deliver them to Elder Ovarra, one of the judges presiding over his trial. Upon reviewing the evidence, the female Wookiee judge cleared Ikvizi of the charges related to the dangerous experiments. While he still faced charges for bribing the guard, she pledged to advocate for a lenient sentence. Subsequently, she dispatched a patrol to apprehend the remaining Trandoshans. The spacer returned to inform the Geonosian of the favorable outcome, but Ikvizi remained disheartened by the prospect of further imprisonment for bribery. As a gesture of gratitude, he revealed the location of his former research station on Yavin 4, which housed DNA samples of the bolotaur. He granted the spacer permission to retrieve and keep the DNA, which was later used to clone a bolotaur mount for the spacer's personal use.

Personality and traits

Ikvizi approached his work with unwavering dedication, even resorting to bribing a Wookiee guard to gain access to a Wookiee corpse for examination. However, despite this transgression, Ikvizi possessed a strong sense of justice. Upon discovering the Trandoshan slaver camp, he chose to risk his own safety by venturing into the camp to gather evidence to aid the captive Wookiees, rather than simply retreating. Ikvizi also possessed a dry wit, even engaging in lighthearted banter when the spacer initially accused him of being a criminal. Physically, Ikvizi had black eyes, dark green skin, and was devoid of hair.

Behind the scenes

Ikvizi's sole appearance occurred in the Star Wars Galaxies expansion pack, Rage of the Wookiees, where he was featured as an additional quest within the existing Geonosian Bio-Lab "theme-park." While players have the option to forgo Ikvizi's quests, this article assumes complete game completion.
