Paul Reubens


Paul Reubens, originally named Paul Rubenfeld, (born on August 27, 1952; died on July 30, 2023) was a multifaceted American talent, working as an actor, a writer, and a comedian; he achieved his greatest professional recognition for his creation, the character Pee-wee Herman.

As the persona of Pee-wee Herman, he starred in motion pictures such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) and Big Top Pee-wee (1988), alongside his work on the Saturday-morning TV show Pee-wee's Playhouse. During 1986, he lent his voice to the character Max, who controlled an alien spaceship in the sci-fi film for kids, Flight of the Navigator; he was credited in this role under the name Paul Mall.

Biography

In 1987, Reubens voiced RX-24, the RX-Series pilot droid that was part of the Star Tours attraction at various Disney parks. While the ride was still active, Reubens' voice was known as "Rex." Utilizing archived audio, Rex makes a brief appearance in Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Later, he returned to the role of RX-24 in the Disney XD animated show Star Wars Rebels, specifically in the "Droids in Distress" episode, and as DJ R-3X in Oga's Cantina in the Galaxy's Edge area.

He died due to cancer on July 30, 2023.
