The individual working as the dock officer at the Peragus Mining Facility held the responsibility for managing the hangar where the Ebon Hawk came to rest.
Upon Meetra Surik's arrival aboard the Ebon Hawk, the dock officer oversaw the placement of much of the cargo into the ship's storage area, including some programming spikes. He commented that the only method to gain access to the cargo hold was to use explosives to breach the door. He also expressed surprise that the mining droids had successfully repaired the Ebon Hawk, especially considering that approximately half of the miners were currently receiving medical treatment due to accidents caused by those same droids. During his off-duty hours, he observed the droids engaged in repairing the port stabilizers. This activity was highly likely due to commands given by the HK-50, who had entered maintenance disguised as a simple protocol droid. However, he was confident that the ship could not be launched because the ship's navigation computer required a voice-locked command.
As the accidents increased in frequency and the emergency lockdown protocol was activated, the dock officer found himself among those confined to the dormitories. He attempted to utilize the holo-transmitter to broadcast a message to the administration level in order to deactivate the lockdown. However, this plan failed because the administration console had been disconnected from the main hub. He understood that escaping the dormitory from within was impossible. He made attempts, which were unsuccessful, to bypass the lockdown. He transmitted calls for help, hoping that a passing vessel or a Telos freighter would arrive. He also hoped that any surviving miners could reach the administration levels and establish contact with a ship to provide assistance in rescuing those trapped in the dormitory. He succeeded in using the holo-transmitter to send a distress signal beyond the facility, potentially reaching beyond the asteroid field. This signal consisted of a basic flash code representing the turbolift controls, but it was weak and would require a significant amount of time for a ship to detect it unless they were actively searching the area.
The dock officer's efforts to rescue the facility's personnel would ultimately be futile, as by the time Surik regained consciousness, all of them would have perished due to the presence of toxic fumes within the ventilation system.
