Pirate's Shadow asteroid field Located within the Corellian system was the Pirate's Shadow, an asteroid field known for offering concealment and refuge to pirates and criminals. These individuals would lie in wait, ambushing unsuspecting freighters that strayed too near. Although CorSec frequently dispatched patrols to the region, they proved unable to completely eradicate the pirate presence or the smuggling activities within the Pirate's Shadow.
Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony and released by LucasArts, featured the Pirate's Shadow. The game was available until its shutdown on December 15, 2011.
