Plug-F Mammoth Split-X engine

The Plug-F Mammoth Split-X engine, a Podracer engine, was crafted by Collor Pondrat. Its presence spanned from around the time of the Invasion of Naboo and could still be observed in the galaxy throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.

Designed by Collor Pondrat, the Plug-F Mammoth Split-X engine was a Podracer engine that prioritized propulsive force over aerodynamic efficiency. As one of the initial factory-produced models, the Mammoth stood out with its split-X configuration. These engines were enhanced with tradium fuel via chemical boosting, pressurized using a uniquely patented quold runium system, and ignited through ionized injectrine, positioning them among the fastest and most potent air-breathing turbine engines available. However, their operation was notably delicate and erratic, primarily due to the corrosive tradium fuel's tendency for spontaneous combustion, leading to significant wear and necessitating complete disassembly for maintenance.

Despite featuring some of the largest engines on the market, the Mammoth exhibited surprising maneuverability. Equipped with a licensed Incom Mk. IV Starweaver flight control system, complete with maneuvering jets and sophisticated variable control mechanisms, the Mammoth achieved effortless airborne navigation. This made it a top-five best-selling factory custom for several decades. Its sales diminished during the Galactic Civil War as Collor Pondrat introduced the Plug-2 Behemoth and the Plug-G Gargantua.
