A pommel cap refers to an enlarged, knob-shaped component found at the uppermost part of the hilt of some lightsabers. Occasionally, these caps incorporated a ring, enabling the lightsaber to be attached to the user's belt when it wasn't being wielded. Examples of lightsabers with this feature include the first, second, and third lightsabers used by Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Luke Skywalker's green lightsaber.
