Offices that displayed bounties were known as posting agencies. Certain agencies possessed connections to the Imperial Enforcement DataCore, a network storing data about the Galactic Empire's law enforcement operations and its agents. This network was accessible to Imperial staff and licensed bounty hunters via computer terminals. One such posting agency could be found within the Capital City spaceport on the planet of Lothal.
The concept of posting agencies was initially introduced in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a 1993 Star Wars Legends sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game authored by Simon Smith and Eric Trautmann. They were later established as canon through their inclusion in Ezra's Gamble, a young adult novel by Ryder Windham that was published on August 5, 2014.
