Prakess, a small world with a solid surface, was a planet found in the Prakith system. It was situated within Sector 5 of the Deep Core. This planet circled the star Prak as the fifth orbital body, and it possessed a pair of moons. Prakess was characterized by its frozen conditions and terrain made of stone.
The initial mention of Prakess occurred in "Byss and the Deep Core, Part 3: Prakith," which was the third installment of the Byss and the Deep Core articles in the Planet Hoppers series. Rodney Thompson authored this piece, which was released on Wizards of the Coast's website on April 21, 2005. Later, the planet was featured more prominently in Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil, the concluding book from the Star Wars: Darth Bane Trilogy. Drew Karpyshyn penned this novel, which was published on December 8, 2009. The Essential Atlas, a reference work that came out on August 18, 2009, identified the Prakith system, and consequently Prakess, as being located in grid coordinate K-10.
