Presbalin, a planet, existed within the Presbalin system. This celestial body resided in the Loop Worlds region of the Gordian Reach sector, which itself was located in the Trans-Hydian section of the Outer Rim Territories. The Junction-Tierell Loop hyperlane provided a connection between Presbalin, the Near Indosa system, and the Tierell system found within the Thesme sector.
Once, an alien civilization abandoned numerous cities on Presbalin. The Human colonists who arrived later discovered that these settlements were ideally suited for them to live in. While some travelers to the planet considered the architecture of these cities attractive, others found it unsettling and terrifying. Presbalin ultimately rose to prominence as the Loop Worlds' commercial center. In the years preceding 43 ABY, scouts were engaged in attempts to locate a reliable hyperspace path from Presbalin to the Pinoora system, navigating through the highly ionized gases present in the neighboring Denarii Nebula.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, released in 2009 and written by Daniel Wallace along with Jason Fry, was the first time Presbalin was mentioned. The book placed it in grid square P-6.
