Project Auger

Project Auger was a Galactic Empire endeavor, specifically a mining operation, that was driven by the desires of the Emperor Palpatine. This project centered around the Imperial occupation of the planet Zeffo, with the goal of unearthing numerous ancient artifacts. The Empire, under Imperial Code 94364, forcibly removed Zeffo's inhabitants to facilitate their occupation, although Zeffo's magnetic winds caused malfunctions in Imperial technology. Progress on the project stalled until Officer Krane, an ambitious individual, assumed control. Krane's leadership was characterized by recklessness, resulting in the deaths of many of her troops and workers due to various incidents like mining accidents, encounters with Zeffo's wildlife, and cave-ins. Ultimately, Officer Krane met her end while concealing an artifact, hoping it would curry favor with the Emperor. Despite initial plans for cancellation, the project was revived following the discovery of two ancient Zeffonian tombs by Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan. Following its reactivation, Project Auger experienced a surge in Imperial personnel, including stormtroopers, [Purge Troopers](/article/purge_trooper], and the Inquisitor known as the Second Sister, who were deployed to pursue Kestis.
