Initially a struggling community primarily inhabited by laborers from moisture farm operations, the town's original designation was Garrotine. However, it underwent a renaming following a period of economic resurgence triggered by an uncommon rainfall event orchestrated by the Tirrith in 3 ABY. Over the subsequent half-decade, Prosperity experienced substantial expansion; its collection of cantina establishments increased from a solitary, modest venue to more than twelve. By 8 ABY, Darial Anglethorn, a local engaged in moisture farming, secured the position of peacekeeper for Prosperity and simultaneously became the inaugural representative of the planet within the New Republic Senate.
