Prowl was a Prowler 1000 seeker droid in the possession of Finn Galfridian around 25 ABY. Following the Battle of Artorias—an attack on the planet of Artorias, which was Galfridian's homeworld—the droid accompanied Galfridian to the Jedi Praxeum situated on Yavin 4. While stationed there, Prowl commonly observed his owner during training sessions. This continued until Galfridian, along with the Solo children and Lowbacca, began exploring a cave after hearing sounds of an injured animal. Prowl was deployed to explore the cave's interior, where it encountered a Tuk'ata. However, Jacen Solo was able to pacify the creature, allowing Prowl to avoid any harm. Subsequently, Prowl went with Galfridian and the other Jedi trainees to Nar Shaddaa to aid in gathering information about a certain smuggler. After Han Solo briefly disabled Prowl, Galfridian used the connection between his data goggles and the droid to locate a thief that ultimately led the group to their informant, Spraug. With their objective achieved, Prowl and Galfridian went back to Yavin 4, where they tried to secretly return to Artorias to assist in the fight against the Yuuzhan Vong invaders.
