Artorias, a planet located in the Outer Rim territories, was known for its peaceful nature and lack of significant defenses. In the year 25 ABY, as the Yuuzhan Vong War began, the Yuuzhan Vong race launched an invasion, resulting in the world's conquest.
This sunny world of Artorias was characterized by its diverse landscape, featuring mountains, forests, and oceans, including the notable Great Sea of Artorias. Structures were typically constructed using white stone as the primary material. The Yuuzhan Vong invasion inflicted extensive damage upon much of the planet's terrain and many of its buildings.

Since the time of the Galactic Civil War, King Caled Galfridian had been the ruler of the planet. Artorias opposed the authority of the Galactic Empire, and Galfridian participated in the Battle of Hoth alongside the Rebel Alliance. Upon hearing rumors of the Empire's potential expansion into the Outer Rim, Galfridian returned to Artorias to oversee the construction of a deep sea shelter, intended to safeguard the population. However, the Galactic Civil War concluded before the shelter's completion. Following the war, numerous refugees seeking a tranquil life chose to immigrate to Artorias.
In 25 ABY, Artorias became one of the first planets to fall during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. The Yuuzhan Vong altered the planet's ecosystem to benefit their empire, and its inhabitants faced evacuation, enslavement, or death. Under King Caled's leadership, a resistance force emerged to disrupt the Vongforming process by strategically planting powerful explosives within the terraforming facilities.
The Galfridian family originated from Artorias; King Caled Galfridian held the position of the planet's ruler and led the resistance movement during the Yuuzhan Vong occupation.
Artorias made its debut in Invasion 0, Part 1, the initial chapter of the Star Wars: Invasion graphic novel series. The Essential Atlas appendices mistakenly listed the Artorias system's grid coordinates as L-2, while maps depicting the Yuuzhan Vong War placed it near Dubrillion at K-3. The Online Companion provided a correction to these coordinates.
