PTP link

The point-to-point link, also known as the PTP link, was a straightforward, multi-channel communication tool. It had the ability to broadcast audio signals across distances reaching up to 25 kilometers.

These PTP links, which came in various designs and dimensions, gained considerable traction during the era of the Galactic Republic. As time passed, newer and more effective telecommunication systems, like the HoloNet, rendered PTP links outdated. However, despite their obsolescence, the Rebel Alliance embraced PTP links due to their unique advantage: most contemporary communication devices couldn't intercept PTP transmissions, making them perfect for secret correspondence. By incorporating a PTP encryption device, the antiquated transmission format of a PTP became nearly impossible to detect. The standard versions were priced at 150 credits, while versions equipped with encryption features could reach a price of 1,000 credits.
