Qigong Kesh, alternatively referred to as the Temple of Force Skills, was one of the nine temples belonging to the Je'daii Order. It was situated on the lush world of Tython. This temple, Qigong Kesh, was specifically located amidst the dunes of the Silent Desert on the continent of Thyr, and it functioned as the Order's specialized school for the advancement of one's mental acuity and sensory abilities through the use of the Force.
When the initial group of philosophers and scholars from across the galaxy made their way to Tython, they arrived via enormous pyramidal structures known as the Tho Yor. These nine colossal vessels dispersed across the planet, each landing in a distinct location, and released their passengers to inhabit the world. The Tho Yor themselves would then become the cornerstones for the new homes and learning centers of these settlers.
One such Tho Yor came to rest in the Silent Desert, where the original members of the Je'daii Order established the Temple of Force Skills at Qigong Kesh. Below the tranquil surface of the desert, a network of caverns extended, protected from the silencing effects of the sands. Within this temple, students concentrated on developing their mental fortitude and power in the desert's tranquility, focusing on the Force and mastering the art of shielding themselves within it. The Je'daii Temple Master, the Je'daii who acted as the facility's administrator and supervised its operations, ensured that all students maintained a proper equilibrium within the temple and dedicated themselves to their studies. In 25,793 BBY, Master Miarta Sek, a Sith, held the position of overseer at the Temple.
Qigong represents a Chinese meditative practice.
