Quay novelty toy

A "pre-programmed prognosticator," the Quay novelty toy was essentially a white plastic sphere with a diameter of twenty-three centimeters. This sphere contained a voice chip storing a collection of generalized responses. To use it, a person would pose a question to the Quay, and a loud voice would project the answer. The Weequay people regarded these objects as genuine physical links to their Moon God Quay, treating the responses as if they were divinely inspired.

Dawson discovered three Quays being offered for purchase on Kabal. The Tynnan demolition specialist employed one of these Quays to devise a makeshift trap during the operation to save Cecil Noone from the hunter Tyro Viveca.

Behind the scenes

The Quays are inspired by the real-world toy known as the Magic 8-Ball.
