Quilb, a Jedi Master of the Cathar species (a male), was in service to both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. This occurred during the era of the Cold War against the reconstituted Sith Empire. Based at the Jedi Temple which was located on the planet of Tython, Quilb was well regarded among the Jedi due to his affinity for other species and his habit of caring for orphaned individuals. He was presented with a baby Flesh Raider discovered in the vicinity of Kaleth. Prior to officially adopting the child, Quilb engaged in deliberations with the Jedi Council regarding the upbringing of the infant.
